What's the best thing to eat to recover from a long run...? BROWNIES

Here's a funny little story. The summer before I started culinary school I went to orientation. I don't really remember much from orientation expect for this one short conversation I had at the lunch they provided us. I was sitting there with my mother and a guy comes and sits next to us. He stares at my name tag and this is how our conversation went:
- "I bet you are a baking and pastry major."
Me: "Why yes, how did you know?"
- "Because if you take the l out of your last name it spells brownie"

...At the time I couldn't figure out if he was funny or just weird. Turns out he was mostly funny and just a tad weird. We had multiple classes together. Unfortunately, after school I lost touch with many people and I do wonder what they are up to. This past winter I did happen to see this gentleman (who shall remain nameless), but I was coming back from an evening of drinking tanqueray and tonics at Brewer's Art, so I spared myself the embarrassment.

Anyway.......I made brownies today and whenever I think of brownies I think of that conversation! I'm training for the Marine Corp Marathon in October so today I planned on running 16 miles but because of the heat it turned into just 12. Opps! I've heard that chocolate is a great food for recovery. Lots of articles say drink a glass of chocolate milk, but since that's out, I made brownies...and they were perfect : )

Wow, terrible picture from my phone...sorry!
