Life update.

Right now seems like a good time for a life update. Here we go. About 4 weeks ago I lost my job. The business that I had worked for since I was 18 closed abruptly. It was incredibly upsetting and I did not know what turn my life was going to take. Being laid off is a huge blow to your ego/self esteem. But, I knew something better was to come.

And something much better did come. A couple months ago Root's Market expanded their bakery department with a new facility and new products. Products that are all vegan. Gluten free recipe development is in the near future. And I am now apart of their bakery team. Things couldn't have worked out more perfectly. I am so happy. In a way I needed to be laid off from my job to realize there was more out there for me. It's amazing how life works out, isn't it?

It feels great to be back at work. In my time off I made a couple cakes for long time customers. The cake below was for a 50th wedding anniversary.

In two weeks I will begin taking graduate classes at the University of Baltimore (Marketing and Finance) and in January (fingers crossed!) I will begin their MBA program. This weekend I am registering to take the GMAT sometime in early October.  While I have been studying some (and will more!), I hope my positive grades from last semester will balance everything out. Big tests get me very nervous!

This fall I will also be running the Baltimore Half Marathon and the Philadelphia Full Marathon.

The remainder of this year will be very busy. But, life is good!
